Frequently Asked Questions

In which areas do you offer internships?

CEWE COLOR offers opportunities to work as an intern in virtually all of the business divisions. These include Production, Sales, Marketing, Market Research, Human Resources and Controlling/Finance as well as Logistics, Corporate Affairs and other divisions too. Internships are always possible in any of the divisions (see internships available); we are, however, always pleased if the focus of your studies and the business divisions tally, since this will always be advantageous.

How long should an internship last?

You should invest at least three months in an internship, with the maximum duration for an internship being limited to six months. Of course: the longer you stay and the more experience and reliability you show, the more responsibility will be assigned to you, hence enhancing your chances of success. We aim at achieving a win-win situation for both parties.

How are the times and the applications dates for internships specified?

Internships can be carried out in our company throughout the year. You will find detailed information in the offers. We always recommend that applications be submitted at least three months prior to commencement of an internship.

How do I apply? And where do I apply?

You can apply direct online; your CV and your certificates can be uploaded. You may of course also send in your application per email or by post direct to the contact persons or to the Human Resources Department of the respective operations.

What requirements must I fulfil in order for my application to be successful?

You are studying Economics (Business) Informatics or (Industrial) Engineering or Law; other fields of study are, however, also welcome. Motivation is an absolute must. What is important is that you have already gained your intermediate diploma when you send in your application or that you can show that you have completed a comparable stage in your studies.

How are interns selected?

Generally personal talks are conducted with the respective division or with the human resources department before applicants are chosen. If these talks show that we are suited then nothing else will stand in the way of an internship in our company.

What must my application for an internship include?

A full application should include:

  • A letter of application
  • Your curriculum vitae
  • A passport photo
  • Certification of qualification for higher education
  • Other certificates (intermediate diploma, professional training and work certificates, internship certification, etc.)

In your letter of application, please do not forget to indicate in which department you would like work during your internship.

I would like to do an internship abroad. Where do I apply?

Our operations abroad take human resources decisions themselves. There are no programs for delegating interns.  You will need to contact the respective contact person yourself. You will find contact data in our list of operations.

I would also like to write my thesis at CEWE COLOR - is this possible?

You will need to have completed an internship of three months in our company beforehand so that we can get to know you and you can get to know us. You may utilise your network in our company to find a supervisor for your thesis during your internship in order to choose and agree on a subject that is interesting for both parties.

Do I need to have a good knowledge of languages?

A good knowledge of German is absolutely essential. However, a sound knowledge of English and being able to converse fluently in both languages is recommendable if you wish to do an internship in our company.

Is it possible that I can join CEWE COLOR as a management trainee if I have done an internship or could I be taken on immediately after my internship?

As a college or university graduate you can join one of our production locations within the framework of on the job training. We will systematically prepare you for taking over specialised and/or managerial responsibilities.
We only take on assistants in the case of specific vacancies, although in this case we do prefer to recruit from a pool of former interns who have performed extremely well. You will find information in our situations vacant section if there are assistant positions available in any of our specialised divisions.
